The draw is seeded so you can't get any teams in the top half of that table
Beyond that we're not sure now as the first round has always in the past been geographical but the official West Ham site are saying that's not the case.

It depends on the calibre of team we are playing. But I wouldn't risk not making the actual competition. As although it may hamper league form it will be good fun and I think fitting to give Upton park a good send off with some decent European nights. Quarter final would be fantastic

Whoever it is will have their strongest side out and be well up for it with a full house backing them.
We'll see just how easy it will be soon.
Of course hopefully I am wrong but I seriously doubt it will be a walk in the park and if we put out a mainly young side I wiil be worried.
